Hi Lasse and Gun,
Sorry for late the response but we didn’t see your comment earlier, not sure how we could miss that?? However, better late than never… Both Anders and me miss our pillows but except from that we are ok 🙂 Hope you both are ok and that we can meet up when we are back.
Lots of love Petra and Anders
Hi, We met on Sunday at the Conservative club. You told us about your trip and so I am following you now 🙂 I never said anything then but I was actually born in South Africa and lived there for 15 years before moving to Poland. If you passing through Rustenburg I can sponsor you both a night at my Aunties B&B. http://kettleguestlodge.com/ – I also know many hidden places to see especially if going by Bike!
Hi Peter and Kate, Many thanks for you comment and the offer to sponsor us a night at your Aunties B&B. We would very much like to stay at your Aunties place if we pass Rustenburg and it would be fab to get some tips about hidden places in that area that we can explore with the bikes 🙂
Kind regards, Anders and Petra

Hi Anders and Petra, We have met recently near the McDonalds cafe, I am really impressed by your dream, you are true enthusiasts, I believe your dream will come true, good luck, I wish you reach your final destination!!! Best regards, George
Hej Lyssnade på ert föredrag uppe i Säfsen. Intressant. Försöker följa er resa på nätet, Och det har ju hänt en del spännande grejer. Såg att ni har kommit en bit in i Mongoliet nu. Håller era tidsplaner så här långt?
Hello from Penza. This is Alexander we met at the hotel)
Hello Anders, Petra, I am really enjoying reading your posts. Hats off to you Petra, you have the energy to write these posts after all the travelling. Enjoy your trip and keep blogging
Hi Anders & Petra
I have followed your escapades since you left off. I´m so impressed of you both, couldn´t believe that you had it in you. You´ve been on the move for many days now. Mongolia! That´s quite a bit. As said before, envy your good days, but not the bad ones. Seems you´ve had a couple of the latter. Your way of writing is admireble, Petra doesn´t seem to leave out any stuff, or is there even more that she has left out.? By the way, nice photos Anders, thought that Petra was the one to handle the camera.
Petra, whithin a year or so, I´ll think you can handle your BMW quite well. No worries. Good luck on the forthcoming journey, to you both. Looking forward to see you again. Lasse and Gun (sleeping beside me)
Hi Lars, Thanks for your comments. You are right there have been a few bad days but also some very good once. It is hard but we were sort of prepared for that… maybe not this hard…. It is very difficult to ride my bike off road as it is far too big for me so that was the biggest mistake we made. Another big mistake we made was to go to Mongolia without having any off road experience but I think this is us in a nutshell and that makes it more exciting…. I think…
Say hello to Gun
Petra and Anders

Best wishes Petra x

Hi petra, This is Yu Chun，we talked in the yard of the hotel where you stopped by for a night in Erenhot, you told me how many days you took in your trip from London to China, remmember me? Acatually, i am not locals , i graguated this july and got my first job in a company located in Tianjin and it was a business trip to Erenhot for two days. How was the night in Erenhot? and did you get your orders from local policeofficer?
I guess you are crossing China all the way to south, it’s a big country isn’t it, anyway hope you guys have a great experience in China, and i look forward to your new photos here. (i am so envy of you guys having an amazing trip around the world).
best wishes Yu Chun
Hi Yu Chun, Thanks for your very nice comment. I do remember you though it now feels like a long time since I was in Erenhot. I am now in Lijiang and have another 10 days in China before I will cross the border into Laos. It has so far been very interesting traveling through China and I have seen so much, met wonderful people and had very nice vegetarian food. China is so different to Europe were I come from. Everything from food, culture and landscape are different. As the trip through China has been quite stressful with many hours on the roads every day I will definitely come back to visit China again and have some more time.
Wish you all the best with your new job.
Best wishes Petra

Thanks a lot for your comment. We will be in India around that time so it would be great to come to the meet in april. I tried to register but it was something wrong with the web page. Please could you let us know how to register for the bike meeting?
We look forward to seeing you in India
Cheers Anders and Petra
Sawatdee Anders and Petra! I finally dug through my back pack and found your card. Chelsea and I are home in Missouri, back to work and the rushing around. I would give anything to be at the top of the falls in Pai with you two! I’m so delighted to be following your travels now. Enjoy everything , absolutely everything, for me too! Shanti, Polly
It seems that u will be crossing odisha state in India. Kindly let me know if u have plan cross Bhubaneswar.
Sure Vishwanath. We might be crossing Odisha, but at the moment we don’t know which way we will take to Bangalore.
Hello Guys.! Its great to see you do such a life time journey. I write to you to say hi as i think i saw you today morning in Pune, India. Correct me if wrong. All ill say is welcome to my city and best wishes to your trip forward. Ride safe take care. 🙂
Hi Anders and Petra,
good morning. I am so glad that i just happened to see you this morning riding on the Palace road in Bangalore. I was riding another bike and waved at you. I was reading the signs on your bike to later check about your adventure. I made a note, came to work and Googled. Thanks to technology it took no time to locate. I realise was lucky to have seen you.
I was absolutely surprised when I saw you both taking the mud road on the side, when you noticed thick traffic ahead!. This is something which you see only the local commuters doing. Looks like you have picked up tricks on driving Indian road having driven long from West to south.
Once again I can’t explain how happy I am . No better way to start the day.
I wish you have a great stay in Bangalore and happy riding in India.
Ofcourse I would be very happy to say a hello to you if I know where you will be in Bangalore.
What’s your next destination?
Have a Nice day.
My coordinates – mail – ipjayakanthan@gmail,com. Jayakanthan
Hi Jayakanthan, Thank you for your very nice comment. Not sure if we ever will feel comfortable to ride in India but it is getting better and better. I am sorry we didn’t have the chance to talk to you. We are now in Kerala where it is very very hot and humid so we are thinking of heading a little bit north again so who knows we might end up in Bangalore again 🙂 Have a nice day
Hello Anders and Petra… I drove along side you both on this past Sunday on Tumkur Road. We had a small chat ( I was in a Volkswagen Vento). Here is wishing you some great memories from India! I hope you have the time of your lives on this trip and if ever you are in Bangalore, look me up! I own a Royal Enfield and do a bit of riding my self.
Best Wishes, Sudheer
Thank you for your comment. We have already been to Bangalore but might go there again but it depends on from where we are going to ship the bikes. Best Wishes Petra and Anders

Hey Anders and Petra, we are 2 belgian traveling on one bike from Alaska to Argentinie. We are now in Vegas and going out of US on Oct 28. It was nice to read your blog ,we are also traveling fron jun 2011…hope to see you on the road….our weblog is http://www.tangatanga.com/cycle2gether/ you can change the language. Be careful dave journey…and hope to hear from you. Marc and Carina…Belgium
Hi Marc and Carina, great to hear from you and hear about more heading towards Argentina. We are at the moment in Carlsbad staying with some friends but will in a few days be crossing the border into Mexico. We are going down Baja and planning to find a place to stay for a few weeks. Will you be travelling down Baja? If you do lets keep in contact as we could maybe meet up somewhere 🙂 We checked your blog which we really enjoyed and we noticed that you also met Steve and Janette, great people. We met them at a Horizon Unlimited meet. Ride safe and keep the rubber down Petra and Anders
Hey Anders and Petra. I met you guys in Säfsen when you presented your trip and have been following on FB and the website with much joy and excitement! I’m planning a trip that includes shipping my bike from Sweden to North america and driving down to South America and then ship the bike back. This is the longest trip for me so far and I’m wondering: Has your budget so far matched the budget idea you presented i Säfsen 2013? Has there been any big surprises that you didn’t expect?
Keep up the great work!
P.S. I really hope that there is a chance to listen to you guys when the trip is finished! Are you planning to have any presentation for example on Adventure days or HUBB when you get back to Sweden or UK?
Best regards Andreas
Hi Andreas! We are so pleased to hear that you like our FB-page and website 🙂
We have spent less money than the budget idea we had… Asia where we spent almost a year was very inexpensive and we also been camping much more than we originally thought. We have been surprised how friendly people are everywhere we travel, riding motorcycles are really a great icebreaker and we have experienced that we bikers, regardless of country, always look out for each other.
We will certainly come back to the Touratech Adventure Days in Säfsen, but probably not until 2016.
Take care and ride safe Anders and Petra
HELMETS OFF………. TO U BOTH FROM THE INDIAN MOTORCYCLE COMMUNITY……….
Many thanks for your nice comment Geet Singh Bindra 🙂
Hola Petra, hola Anders, we had a short Meeting in Osorno at motoaventura. A pity that the time was so short. But sometimes the little moments are the best. We wish you furthermore a lot of great moments in the world and with the people. Maybe see you in Germany at the end of your trip? you are always welcome. Best wishes “y suerte” Moni und Jürgen
Hola Moni und Jürgen, hope you are well. Yes it was a pity that we didn’t have more time for a chat, would have been nice. Who knows maybe we see you somewhere else in the world… We will for certain visit Germany sometime in the future. Best wishes Petra and Anders
🙂 Saludos cordiales Anders y Petra
I saw you 2 on the m1 today! I can not wait to read this site.. Your living my dream
Sorry we missed you and thanks for the comment Steve 🙂 Hope you enjoy the reading. Stop dreaming… just do it, you’ll love it. If not, you always have the option to turn around and ride home again 😉
What do you guys do for fuel with such a small tank on the f800gs? just curious
Thanks in Advance!
Hi Greg, We usually do not have any problems finding fuel. I remembered we carried extra fuel when riding in north of India, Alaska, Mongolia and a few more times but except from that we have always found fuel. The problem is when we ride motorways, which we try to avoid, as we then do lots of miles and need to fill up very often. Where there are people there is always petrol. We normally do 300 km and can do even more when we ride on high altitudes and less on motorways when we do high speed. Hope that answered your questions.
