We have used the Primus Omnifuel stove since we started our around the world tour for almost two and a half years ago, and it’s a bullet proof stove for this kind of trip. After been using this stove in different temperatures and altitudes and it’s working flawless. As we do a lot of camping this is one of the most important piece of equipment we have and it has never disappointed us. It is very quick and easy to set up and the construction is robust.
Primus Omnifuel can run on nearly anything: petrol/gasoline, diesel, gas and kerosene/paraffin. That makes it fantastic for international touring. We have only used it with petrol though, which require occasional cleaning but this is no different from any other stove.
One great feature is that it’s possible to control and adjust the flame, which makes it easy to cook things like rice and thick soups without burning them.
I have heard and read some other people mentioned that they think it’s being a bit loud, however I don’t see this as a problem and I would take reliability over ‘loud’ any day.
I’m very pleased with this stove and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
