Primus Gourmet Set consists of two pots, 1,0 and 1,8 liters, and a frying pan in stainless steel. The whole set packs together into a compact unit in the accompanying net bag. As the pots and pan are made of stainless steel it’s slightly heavier then an aluminum or teflon set, but the extra weight also come with higher quality and a more robust cooking set that will last for a long while.
Both the pots come with transparent lids that also can be used as colanders. The handles on the pots are a lightweight grip coated with rubber that makes it easy to grip. However, one need to be careful so the rubber coating don’t melt if used on a gas stove where the flames can reach on the side of the pot. However, this is not a problem at all when used on my Primus Omnifuel stove.
The frying pan is my favorite with its thick bottom that prevent burning and which makes the heat more even. It has a robust foldaway handle, which makes it packs small and fits well underneath the pots.
So if you’re looking for a high quality, long lasting, cooking set that comes with two pots and a frying pan and will still fit in your luggage this is highly recommended.
Pros & Cons
- Perfect for two people
- High quality and long lasting
- Easy to wash
- Slightly heavier than alternatives
- The rubber pads on the pots are not heat resistant, which can be a problem on some gas stoves where the flame reaches the side of the pan.
